Privacy Policy
Petonics provides research-backed pet mood insights from sound using explainable acoustic cues. Petonics Pro adds named pet profiles, separate per-pet history, and per-pet vocal baseline calibration from clean clips. This policy explains how the app handles microphone access, on-device analysis, local history, local pet-profile data, and Google Play purchase status.
Summary
Petonics uses your device microphone when you choose to record an animal vocalization. The app analyzes that audio to generate a pet mood estimate and explainability readout.

Information Petonics uses
Microphone and audio recordings
Petonics requests microphone access so that you can record animal vocalizations for analysis.
- We use recorded audio to capture the clip you choose to analyze.
- We extract acoustic features such as pitch, loudness, harshness, pulse rate, and tonal stability.
- We generate a mood estimate and explainability readout from those acoustic features.
- Recordings are processed on-device in the current version of the app.
- Recordings are not uploaded to our servers in the current version of the app.
Analysis results, pet profiles, and local history
Petonics stores recent analyses locally on your device so you can review recent reads inside the app. If you use Petonics Pro, the app can also store named pet profiles and a per-pet acoustic baseline derived from repeated clean clips.

Purchase and entitlement information
If you choose to buy Petonics Pro, purchases are processed by Google Play. Petonics does not collect or store your full payment card information. Google Play may provide limited purchase status information needed to determine whether Pro access is unlocked on your device.

Data sharing
In the current version of Petonics, we do not share your microphone recordings or locally stored analysis history with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers.
Limited information related to purchases may be handled by Google Play in order to process transactions and manage entitlements, subject to Google's own terms and privacy practices.
Retention and deletion
- Recorded audio is used for immediate on-device analysis during app use.
- Recent analysis history, named pet profiles, and per-pet calibration data remain stored locally on your device until you clear app data, delete them in-app, or uninstall the app.
- Petonics does not maintain a server-side account database for users in the current version.
You can remove locally stored app data by clearing Petonics's storage through Android settings. In the ordinary course of Android behavior, uninstalling the app also removes Petonics's local app data. Petonics Pro also includes in-app controls to clear recent history, delete a pet profile, or reset a pet's baseline calibration without uninstalling the app.
Security
We aim to handle personal and sensitive data responsibly. In the current version of Petonics, sensitive microphone access is requested only when needed for a user-facing feature, analysis is performed locally on-device, and purchases are handled through Google Play.
Children
Petonics is not designed specifically for children and is not marketed as a child-directed service.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or through the app listing.
